Ensemble
November was commissioned to design the identity, communication strategy, and brand guidelines for the Mumbai-based high-fashion retailer Ensemble. The store’s online output was cluttered with a free-for-all strategy and inconsistent graphic language. We condensed their communication needs into a simple layout system of pertinent information. The core of the new identity is the relationship between two typefaces: Commercial Type’s elegant Marian, a modern take on historical models, and Fedra Sans from Typotheque.
We defined the layout for over 50 instances with templates across content types and platforms. Brand guidelines dictated typographic palette, layout considerations, colour choice, and photography. Ensemble’s internal design team has since created hundreds of diverse campaigns based on the guidelines. The new visual identity captures Ensemble’s history and influential role in shaping India’s modern luxury landscape.
